Scott Memorial Church Administrative Council

The Administrative Council, also known as the Church Council, is the governing body that coordinates all the ministries of the church, both the program and the temporal. Its membership includes a chairperson, the lay leader, chairpersons of all the ministries, including the staff-pastor parish committee, finance, board of trustees, church treasurer, presidents of both the United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women, and other ministries organized to meet specific needs of the church. Its purpose is to provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the church. The Council meets the first Saturday of each month.

At Scott the program ministries are Youth, Christian Education, Worship, Stewardship, Outreach, Health, Library, Church and Society, Community, Communications, Kitchen, United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men, Arts and Crafts, and the 3 C’s(a group of caring, committed and concerned senior citizens ) The Administrative Ministry teams are the Leadership Development Team, Staff/Pastor/Parish Relations, Finance, Trustees, Treasurer, Endowment, and Expansion.

This group of leaders meets monthly to coordinate and give support to the program and activities of each of the ministries. Each of these ministries has its own meeting times for doing its work. Each ministry team has a mission and purpose which you will find stated in the description of its program. Also, persons making up the ministry team will also be listed.
